Bielefelder chicks - male or female?

Hi

Our beautiful baby bielefelder chicks just hatched under a proud Orpington mama

It should be very easy to see which are female and which are males by their colors.

I have seen many pictures online. All very easy to see.

However, I am not sure at all when looking at our beauties.

Maybe some experts can see it:

I guess 2 females (chipmunk pattern) and at least one male.
The rest I do not know. They are very dark, but not really the chipmunk pattern.

Any guess?

Well at least 2 girls. Better than no one.

Are you pretty sure?

There is one more, who was quick to hide under mom, but as I remember light color. Pretty sure is was a boy.

With some with that pattern a good hint is the stripes.
There's the dark center one then the two lighter ones. Pullets will have two distinct darker ones next while cockerels lack them or have very faded ones.

I have raised one bielefelder hen and one rooster, and I agree totally. This picture is very clear. They make really pretty roosters, so you might be able to give some away .
