I have 14 hens, 1 rooster, and a male and female Guinea pair. The flock is about 18 weeks old. The male Guinea pecks my hens sometime hard enough to pull out feathers. Today I heard comotion, and went outside to check. I found the make Guinea latched onto the tailfeathers of Big Shot the rooster and chasing him nonstop. By the time I made it to them the Guinea had let go and poor Big Shot was crouched down exhausted and with head down huddled in a corner. I seperated the bad Guinea from the flock for a while so he could think about his sins and hopefully forget about Big Shot for some time. Does anyone else have issues with male Guinea and roosters?

I have heard Guinea male are very mean during breeding season. ( Spring and Summer). I'm not sure he will learn his lesson that easy. I would keep him separate for the rest of the summer.
