mine rooster was he same sadly i gave him away 
he got a little too rough with the girls he was lovely he was a barneveldar very quiet got picked on all the time but he decided to attack the top hen and it was a blood bath poor girl spent ages and still has some feathers missing and its been months and months i think he left at the start of the year !
just keep an eye on him and show him who is boss if he starts on you but he should settle down eventually they get a little over excited sometimes i still wish i had mine ( its harder though as i live in a street with houses surrounding my back garden ! )
its the first time i have ever seen a double too its very exciting isn't it !!
