Big day out! Pics!

The pretty blonde bird is a Buff Orpington (and my favorite: sweet, curious, and smart!).

CoyoteMagic, we're definitely going to put hardware cloth around the perimeter and then under the edges as well. I swear, this project is NEVER going to be finished. The kennel is 7x13x6 and they'll be locked in their coop at night; we have possums, raccoons, coyotes, hawks and owls to contend with, and I'm not taking any chances. I've already done some quick mathematical calculations and realize that yes, I could fit another birdie or two in there.

HobbyChickener, I'm really surprised at how pretty my GLW are turning out. The boy is just stunning; his gold is really a dark red and his black has an emerald-green glint to it. Ophelia, the other GLW, is petite and very pretty with a jaunty little stick-up tail. Edited to add that mostly I'm surprised that I can consider a chicken pretty, so I don't even mean it to sound like I'm bragging on my flock! I'm just surprised that chickens can be such pretty birds.

Ophelia looks just like my Winnie and the Pic of her and your roo together is really easing my fears that winnie might be a roo.
Were going to have a similarly colord flock, but it looks like you need a couple black chickens to go with those.
I almost got a buff Orp when I bought our EE but colleen wanted the green eggs, it was mostly a toss up between the two though.
Your gonna need a couple Australorps now though!!!!

Added, I had thought you had said something about having looked at my Esther and Winnie thread, but I dont see any comments from you in there so; If you have'nt taken a look at it, it might interest you, considering the breeds you have.
Then again maybe it won't but our flocks are so similar...

My flock(2) Dominiques 17 weeks, (1) GLW 8 weeks, (1)EE 8 weeks, (2) Australorps 17 Weeks

Hi Barg,

Yep, I've followed the Esther and Winnie thread...I've enjoyed it, but just haven't posted in it. It's almost like a little chicken blog.

I wish I'd ordered a couple Ameraucanas for green eggs. When I placed my order with MPC, they were backordered on Ameraucanas/EEs, and I was so excited that I couldn't help myself and ordered anyway. Now I wish I'd waited! After I find Surprise the baby roo a new home, I may get a couple older pullets if I can find them. darn chicken hobby. It's getting out of control.
