I was surprised about a month or so ago by one of my older Australorp hens with the mega-egg in the first picture, it weighed 115 grams about 4 ounce's. Then today my eye's nearly crossed when I tried to focus on the teeny tiny egg in the second picture it weighs 17 grams or .599 of an ounce wow, one of my 17 week olds must have laid it as it was near the gate and all eggs from my 22 week olds are accounted for, smallest chicken egg i've ever got.

The first pic has normal hen eggs and the whopper, the second pic has normal hen eggs and the teeny one in the top row and 22 week old's eggs in the bottom row.

Are you asking if this is a problem? If so, no, they do lots of strange stuff til the egg laying machinery gets working.

No I didn't think it was a problem so much as a curiosity, I know eggs come in all sizes, just thought I would post some pics of them.
