Big fat Ethel is in big, fat trouble!

Ask for money for feed... and charge him per dozen eggs she eats. That's what I would do!

I've only had the problem once with someone not getting their pet after leaving it at my place (EVIL DEVIL CAT!!) and we were just having puppies.. I had enough.. she was mean.. She finally got her after 2 months. That cat didn't even warm up to me in the least! And it was indoors!

There is a good point being made here by Don.............. and that is the backyard Hatchery ordering loyalist fall head over heals for the hatcheries description of their dual purpose birds, when in fact most of your LF heritage birds an 8lb hen is just a good regular hen and not a fluke of nature. They have pulled the wool over their hatchery customers to the point where they can get away with producing huge amounts of super substandard birds that their customers don't know the difference, hence the thinking that a 7lb hatchery hen must be a godzilla. When in fact it's really just an Ole hatchery mutt.

I hope the OP get's to keep the hen and do what she pleases or whatever will save her from that hen eating or teaching others to eat all her egg's.

Gotta admit, I was one of those only last year. I thought my one hatchery hen that is almost a whole 5 pounds was huge...

But she still could be something like a "freedom ranger" or whatever, couldn't she?

Aww G yer just feedin her good and she is used to hangin with the big dawg's

............... I know what you mean though.......... Hatchery folks are like oohhh Wowww woowwwwyyyy a 4lb hen should I notify the guiness book of world records. I have changed tires on my truck that were easier to handle than My pure Bad boy LF Cornish roosters

Call your friend and tell him, sorry, but you can no longer keep his birds, so he will have to make other arrangements for them.

I would not keep an egg eater for even a minute past proof of egg eating. Your other birds will learn the habit really quick as soon as they realize those eggs are food.
