Mama-san must have gotten stepped on by one of the horses. She has a big fat foot she won't put down.

She definately has a broken toe, and possibly a broken ankle. Is there anything I can do beside confining her? Should I try to tape the toe or splint it somehow? Any ideas?

BTW, there is some blood, and lot of swelling, but I don't see signs of infection. I presume it would be typical signs like pus? Is neosporin safe? What about oral anti-biotics?

You need to soak the foot in soapy water or water with a little Betadine in it, clean the wound and see where the blood is coming from. Then it will need a dressing with the Neosporin over the wound before you splint it. If you have to splint over a dressing, you probably need to give an antibiotic. See what your feed store has.
