I live smack in the middle of the city and a nasty 18 lb possum atttacked my girls last night, good omne good but didnt kill her the dogs cornered it and it ran under the house, i called vector control for my county and they gave some hints, told me they would trap it and kill it if need be...even though i was told by the city shelter it would be illegal for me to trap it and relocate it. When i told him this he said well, we'd catch it and probably terminate it, there would be no where for us to relocate it, thats whats illegal. I didnt give him my address for fear they would someohow find out that 2 dogs a cat and three chickens was not legal to have in the middle of the city and take my pets...so push comes to shove, i wouldnt have the heart to do it myself but I'm gonna have someone else kill it.

where do you live? I'm sure there are a few kindhearted folks like myself who'd be willing to dispatch the animal for you.

Though my chicken was fine ( though she's not opening her eye) with just two small not too deep puncture wounds in her neck i found a vet that cares for chickens. The vector confirmed that if the possum lives under my home there isn't much else they can do but trap it and "terminate" it.
