Yep, I’ve made the first mistake

I feel like it's pretty common, especially when they are new and you wanna spoil them to the max

Allowing them the whole garden for a few days last year! Thought I’d treat them to the garden a for a few days last spring so they could have some grass, a year later and they haven’t been in their pen since (the gate of the pen stays permanently open) they now feel like they’re entitled to the whole garden and kick up a fuss if I lock them in the pen that was actually built for THEM to be in! They haven’t killed the grass completely but it doesn’t really grow anymore, just stays at a very short length So yes I guess the chickens have won, but they’re happy

Whilst the gate stays open 24/7 and the back part of the pen (the only part they now use when they’re hungry) has essentially became a feeding station
