I see people use DE, how do you use it on a cat?? I have so many I ususally use Advantage but it is so expensive. Thanks

Biospot is very dangerous. I worked at the vet for 9 years and you would not believe how many cases we had like this. Unfortunately you get what you pay for when it comes to flea and tick treatments. It is worth the extra money. Biospot is known to not monitor the amount of poisen that goes into each dose. Some don't have enough, and others have way too much. For anyone reading this, if this happens, immediately wash the dog or cat in Dawn dish soap. It will break up the oil and help get it off the animal. Wash really well, and you probably will need to go to the vet anyway. I'm glad this story, although scary, turned out okay. Please be careful when using any products that are like knock offs, and are cheap. Remember you get what you pay for.

I have used Bio-Spot in the past on my 5 dogs with no problems and good results. Dont know about the package you had but mine said "DO NOT USE ON CATS!!!"

All cheap flea medicine can cause issues with cats. BioSpot for cats, Hertz etc. When I was working for my vet we saw several cases of toxicity due to these medicines and not all could be saved.

Trust me, it is worth the extra to get the good stuff from the vet.

For some reason dogs don't seem to be a sensitive as cats. But I still would not ever use it on my dogs.

Revolution is the only thing I use.

Once when my cat ran out the door and was missing for three days I rubbed DE all over her. It worked as I checked meticulously for fleas and ticks and haven't found any.

I'm sworn against using any kind of chemical on my dogs, whether it's BioSpot, Hartz, Frontline, Advantix or Revolution. Why put something on a pet that is dangerous if it comes into contact with your own skin?!

I have used advantage on multiple cats and dogs(not all mine alot of poor family or friends with tons of fleas) anyway after years of spending 10 dollars a dose I learned that the only difference in cat or dog and the various weights is the dosage. The ingredience is exactly the same. If you buy the largest tube (dogs 55 lb and up) and put it in a little bottle use a medicine dropper to apply the right dose for your animals weight you will save a ton. My vet only sells the big dog one and tells you how to divide it. or look at the box for the right size animal and it says what each tube size is and thatys your dosage. Ive done this for 3 years. I never use store generics for pet meds.

Years ago, my dear cat got paralized and died after 1 dose of biospot for cats. He was at the vet hospitall for a week, but the vet couldn't save him. I'm outraged that this product continues to be sold.

Since then, we only use flea control products sold by veterinaries. Products like frontline top spot, advantage, or revolution for cats. They cost more, but you can find some good deals in the web. Sometimes, the vets will match the internet offers, or get close to it. The first two mentionned are available without a prescription now.

Sorry to hear about your cat.

We have had cats have reactions to the stuff and start vomiting and seizures.

PLEASE check with you VET when buying flea products.
Bio Spot is not good to use on cats.We use frontline and comfortis(sp) and it works pretty good.

Also if you use frontline or any other product over and over,You might want to change it up a little.The fleas can build up a resistance against the product.
