I have baby fever pretty badly. I keep seeing these cute little chickens and I want to hatch the eggs myself, but I wouldn't be able to keep them at my property once they are ready to be outside. Anyone ever have the reverse issue? They want older chicks, but don't want to go through the whole process of hatching them and keeping them inside?

HI Hollypete! Welcome to BYC.

You might want to search threads for people in your area, by typing in your nearest city in the search bar. Others have put an ad on craigslist to hatch eggs for people. (You should have a bunch of experience under your belt and a good incubator, first.)

Other option is to hatch a bunch and take them to a poultry swap, or contact a feed store to see if they would sell them for you.

Good luck!

Hi Hollypete and welcome to BYC. I love letting mother hens raise chicks, but after working out the costs of vaccinations for a small number of chicks, i have recently begun buying 4 week old chicks cos it works out cheaper. I do plan to begin hatching my own soon (its a secret, so don't tell the wife ok?)
