heya!!
haven't got my birbs yet - just bought a home with my partner and excited to learn as much as possible before taking the plunge!
i've wanted chickens for a while but always renting made it impossible.
our yard has 4+ acres and i am thrilled to someday grow snacks for my chimkins and have their aid at making amazing compost for my veggies!!
ASMR for me is hearing ladies squeal for yummy treats.
i love easter eggers as they all seem to be unique individuals, which will be helpful for a beginner in differentiating between siblings.
laced wyandottes are gorgeous, silkies are hilarious, and i will be happy with any and all chickies that come my way!
our plan is to convert one of the outbuildings that is currently a woodshed into a coop. it's on a concrete foundation which i think will be help against predators, already has windows & a winterized door, and has nice space for a sunny run in front and a treed run in back. planning on having a large run with multiple compost bays as well as some ranging time around the garden beds in spring and fruit trees in summer! deep litter strikes me as a convenient option and our roost will be right next to the door.
looking forward to filling my brain with birb things!
