I've been having a little trouble with incubating the Birchen eggs. Humidity is staying 50-60% day 1-18 and then increasing to 70-80% for the remaining few days. Temp staying between 99.0 and 100.8. However, hatch rates have been low. Avg 5-7 chicks out of 25-30 eggs. Many never peep through and of the ones that do, the membrane seems super thick and they end up dying before they can get out. I've helped a few of them out after 20 hours or so of trying to break through the membrane. Of the few that I have helped, they have all done real well and are growing normally. However, with other breeds, I have never had to help any out or noticed the membrane being so tough. Anyone have any ideas on where I'm going wrong?
