Avian flu has been going around near us lately. The kind that is here is only transferable to birds, so the only worry is for the avians. I think that if they do get the flu and it is transferable, contact with your birds would be a bad idea, not just the eggs. If it's only contagious to birds though, the eggs shouldn't be a problem.
