bird hatching outside

my dad found a bird egg and im taking care of it and i dont know what to do exactly never taken care of a bird but im thinking of making a incubator should i? can i leave the egg outside and it would hatch on its own? i live in texas so pls idk

Go for it, bit if it is not gallinaceous (galliforme) it will take a great deal of care to raise. I have done it and would do it again. I hope it is a good egg.

Hatch on its own? Not very likely. It may have been kicked out of its nest by the mother, but also very possible another bird stole it and stashed it away for later.

If its galliforme then its hard or isnt hard to take care of

It has its nest and the egg is still on it my dad found it in a truck thats why

An egg will not hatch on its own . It would be difficult to figure out the humidity levels and heat levels you would need to incubate it...
