You have gotten some great advice on killing the mites but consider WHY you have mites. Commercial flocks spend a lot of time and money on bio control, keeping the wild animals out of their barns. You can kill them off and sanitize the coop but if you are attracting wild birds they will bring the critters right back into the coop. Same rules apply as to a rat infestation, control the feed so wild critters don't come looking for it. Do a forum search on rats and chickens, the issue has been discussed to death and little new ever comes up that isn't already in the hundreds of old threads.
