I bought our netting from amazon as well. However I bought the 50x150.

We ran a rope and put a peak at the top of our pheasant run. Our run is 20x40 and we ran the peak the long way, therefore, we ordered the 50x150 and had left overs.

if you are running it straight across you should be fine, however, the netting does stretch a little, so you will want to sort of bunch it on the sides when you staple it or secure it to the run.

I would buy amazons netting again.

One question? is it for chickens or game birds? The stuff we have is a 2" weave and the younger phesants were able to push out of it when learning to fly. Do a minimum of 1" mesh for gamebirds.

Ok, that price is about the same I paid for my netting that I bought at the feed store. Not the same brand, I think.

It works great for keeping chickens from flying over the fence. It saved the lives of my chickens on a daily basis when they were smaller from hawks. I actually saw a hawk bounce off it as he dove for a silkie once.

The reason I have taken mine down for storage is that the snow will knock it right down. I have some 2 inch metal chicken wire fencing over a pen now that works great for snow- but you have to tie it together as it is only 3 feet wide.

They DO make snowproof netting--heavy duty stuff.

I saw some heavier stuff for sale at randall berkey and cutler supply- but have no experience with it.

Then you can get super expensive HUGE netting - all one net- from another place - I'll try to find the thread if you are interested...let me know if you want me to look.

I hate working with that stuff and I had No luck with it, my hawk was chewing on a rooster while stuck In the netting.....I would love to know what people use as well cause I need something to cover my run as well....

Gage - I saw 24 X 24 and my lights went on. That's the dimensions I'm gonna use on my run. Can you post some pix? I am planning on 14-16 birds in this enclousure plus a coop with a 6 X 12 base. Your opinions would be appreciated. I'm a chicken newbie.

Thanks for this great info. The run is the last thing I have left to do...all the wood and wire is stacked and waiting. I couldnt figure out a top for it.

I used deer netting which comes in big rolls, is inexpensive, and is heavier duty. I have no doubt a coon could get through it but the chickens are locked up every night in a coon proof coop so it works for me. It's easy to put up and keeps all but the most determined predators out every day. At least so far.

When it is completed, I sure will. Right now my post's are up and the wood and fencing is in a stack, and we are just waiting for it to dry out, so we can complete the project.
