Nightwhisper blinked her liquid black eyes. She puffed herself up and hooted "Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-allll!" from the depths of the woods. A vole scurried below her, rustling in the leaves. Nightwhisper focused on it and swooped down, capturing it between her talons. She flew back up to her perch and gulped it down, satisfied for now.
Shadow and Summer huddled together in dense bush, listening fearfully to the hoots and screeches.

Nightwhisper flew through the trees, trying to see what other owls had entered "her" domain. She knew any owl such as a Great-Horned Owl or bigger was more than a match for her, but a Spotted Owl and anything smaller was easy.
Less competiton, more prey.
"Those owls do nothing but kill." Summer fretted and fluffed herself.
"Relax, darling. We need not worry." Shadow gently preened his mate's head.

Pheonix realized this was gonna be a long night, she sighed. "Better do what I gotta do" she grumbled and flew off her perch. Pheonix was blind in the darkness but she had size and strength for advantage. once again she let out a screech, she searched the night for any owls, a great horned she feared the most cause they could actually fight her

Seriema stepped lightly on the ground, ready to take off at any second. she moved without a sound, and picked up the fallen berries, she left out a small coo to show herself that shes not the only bird, but the hoots and screeches reminds her enough

Nightwhisper saw and heard something soaring through the woods, capturing her attention. She silently followed the strange bird, gliding from branch to branch, occasionally calling a few hoots to see if this was an intruder Barred Owl.
