Nightwhisper spotted a young rabbit, pounced on it, and captured it. She covered it with her wings as she ate, so as not to attract the attention of predators. She watched cautiously for Phoenix as she ate.

"Are you alright?" Summer fretted and examined the Kagu.
"I think she's fine, dear." Shadow tried to calm Summer down.

Personality: Fearless, sassy little bird. Not afraid to dive right into danger, hence the scientific name Tyrannus tyrannus.

Anything else: Big birds of prey don't frighten Aspen! She readily dive bombs them if they intrude too close. She's quick and sleek, always getting out of danger at the last moment.
A little bit about your history: Aspen was taught by her parents, if it has big talons, attack! Once, she was in the talons of a hawk, but managed to escape.

Aspen sat perched up on a bare branch above a meadow-like clearing, glancing around for possible insect prey.
