Bird Shows in Texas?

There was the Giddings Trade Day yesterday, and it was very good for its first time.
There is also the Arcola Trade day coming up.

Same here, is there anything in Texas? I live two hours from Amarillo TX, and there is NOTHING around me. I was thinking about going up to OK for something, as they are always having swaps, auctions, shows, etc.

I am 2 hours from Dallas/fort worth area anyone around there? I'd like to see if the northtexas people can get together and make their own swap. Anyone interested?

If you are looking for shows in Texas then you can go to http://www.bluebonnetclassic.com/
You will find a list of the shows and contacts. We will update the actual date of the show as soon as they let us know but the shows are always about the same time.
As far as Trade days - swaps sales - there are not a lot in Texas anymore because of the restrictions they put on the sellers.

Bob

what are some of the restrictions? i think we should all get together and agree on a place and date and try to make our own meet-up in texas! any of yall interested? we can all put down what we have and are looking for and prices and see what goes from there.

In order to sell birds off primise ( off your property) you have to have a lisence from the TAHC. It cost anywhere from $35- $600 depnding on how many birds you raise in a year.
You also have to be tested for P/T from the TDVM but that is free and painless...

All of this can be found on the Bluebonnet Classic Poultry Show website, I gave a link earlier in the thread.

how and where can you get info on getting tahc or tested ?? who do you need to contact?

Surely you don't have to have a license to trade chickens? The license wouldn't be too much for me because I don't have a large flock.
