I saw a hummingbird yesterday, at least I think I did. Green body and too big to be a bug lol it was moving so fast though. It stopped by the lilacs. Then I think I saw another or the same one.
lol. They come in winter and they run under the bushes,
in the summer, the warbler takes over and run under bushes.
I think their related.
They are back. Our resident one has visited the hanging baskets and lilacs.
We have a place in Maine too. One of our neighbors there has hummingbird feeders. They also have a male hummer they named Caesar. Even though there's more than one feeder that stinker won't let any other hummingbirds feed at them. He sits on the telephone lines above and guards the feeders from all comers.
One day I was out walking the dog early. Caesar was sitting up on the power lines. A redtailed hawk landed across the yard in a pine. Next thing I know the hawk is flying away quickly with that bugger in hot pursuit. He was bouncing off the hawk's head.
They come in the winter here too they are soooo cute!I didnt realize they came in winter
