it just didn't care LOL and we saw tons of turtles sunning themselves on rocks and logs in a pond and tons of HUGE tadpoles in that same pond and a few fish and 1 frog. And a turtle crossing the trail. Catbirds have that grey cap and are darker than mockingbirds. Mockingbirds are slightly larger and have longer tails
Catbirds stick to shrubbery and mockingbirds don't care who sees them.
We have a tube feeder in the backyard that we can see from the kitchen window. Our son LOVES watching the birds come to it. One of his first words was BIRD !
I began bird watching at an early age. Used to drive my grandmother nuts talking about birds when she had to wath us.
I have a Tom Turkey pic somewhere, Blue Birds nesting in one box, Chickadees in the other and explosion of Goldfinches!!! 

This was in a parking lot but like a quiet/wooded one at the entrance to a state park. Do you think it was the catbird then?
