Keira looked up and gasped. A boy! He was hurt! She quickly took off, with the silent wing beats of an owl, and landed cautiously on a tree nearby. "Are... are you okay?" she said softly, not wanting to attract attention to them. "What happened?"

"Uhuh," he uttered, nodding stiffly in reply and eyeing the stranger for a moment. "I'll be fine, just need to stop the bleeding. Eraser hit me with one of their pea-shooters."

(For those of you that might not know, 'Pea-shooter' is a derogitory term for a small pistol, so don't take it literally
