Bittersweet Day....Scout & Silver Gone to New Home

Thank you Cynthia for the kind words. Those babies are the friendliest I have ever seen. They love to sit on my shoes. They are doing real well. The babies have a Saint Barnard size dog house with a light for warmth. Scout has been such a gentleman to me today, I even picked him up and held him, but he does not like for me to even try to pick up Silver. Both groups love their big pens. I will send you pictures often Cyn!

That's wonderful! Im glad all my playing with them got them properly socialized.
Oh, I did forget to tell you that all that weird color in Silver's tail feathers is red dirt from her dustbaths in the powdery red stuff next to the house. Every time I let them out to range, she headed right up there and took her a major dustbath! She ran around in a dust cloud like Pigpen from Charlie Brown, LOL! They all love that red Ga dirt-my only white chicken, my Lt Brahma, isnt all that white right now and you saw all the red stuff in Hawkeye's feathers! Anyway, thanks again. Enjoy them!

Awww they look so happy! I'm so glad that they went to a great home. Make sure you post pictures of Scout often!

I know the feeling Cyn...the last blue orp cockerals I took down to a nice person from BYC that lives only acouple hours from me...when I meet her I knew they would be okay...

This time MissPrissy will be the owner of this last hatch and I'm very thankful to her...I know they are in good hands....

Thanks, guys. Yep, some hard choices. Some would be harder than what I did today, though, like if I had to give up Suede or Hawkeye...horrors! Sara loves this breed and she'll give them a great home, so I'm happy she doesn't live too awful far away.

It's sweet of Miss Sara to share hers with me! In exchange for Scout, I'll be hatching some lovely eggs from her Welsummers and Marans in a couple of months. Works well for us both. And Sara, you didn't forget those goodies in that bag, did you, LOL? I forgot to say that she also took home some Blue Orpington hatching eggs as well.
