I woke this morning at 5 am still dark, to a coop full of 13 hens and a rooster all very loudly singing the egg song, naturally I thought a predator was at them with all the noise before daylight, but when I went to investigate they were all happy on the roosts the song getting louder, then I noticed one of my new layers in the nest, well this blew me away, I couldn't work it out so I left them to it, bit much though layin eggs and carrying on at that time of the morning, the rooster crows all night and day but the sound of one rooster crowing is nothing compared to 14 chickens in full chorus, I hope it's rare. Laying eggs before sunrise is that normal ?
