Hahaha reminds me of the time I bought a new horse and didn't tell Dad after all there were already 3 - what's another one?

Chickens r far more easy then horses, tell your hubby, he is lucky it's only chickens and not horses!!!!!

Fyi it took about 3 weeks till he noticed the new gal and n the paddock....

How did it take 3 weeks to notice an extra huge animal?! I would have noticed right away (probably)

Introducing “The Littles”

I have 10 littles in the banty coop. Five Silkies, one showgirl and four Serama mixes.

I’ll start with the Silkies.

This is DJ, my satin smooth silkie. She is named after my oldest daughter, Dakota Jade because she’s sassy, classy and a little smart assy. She’s my favorite of the littles. She comes running to me as soon as she hears me near the pen.

This is Chicken Little. The runt of the bunch, hence the name.

This is Kid Rock. She garnered her name when her poof was growing in crazy and she looked like she had a rockstar hair do.

This is the largest of the littles and, clearly, a cockerel. He doesn’t have a name though.

And then there’s this fella. Also a cockerel with no name. He’s hard to get pictures of because he’s generally trying to keep me away.

Well the barn and paddocks are out back and he Never goes out there unless he was looking for his tools... So Cerah was noticed finally because I had borrowed the round saw

That is hilarious! So far, I’ve only snuck in small animals. I’ll add a little story time about those soon. I find it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission with him.

My silkie pullet laid her egg at 5 months!!!!

I’m hoping it was from a Silkie but I think it was one of the mutts as they are pretty consistent layers and that fairy egg messed up my counts for the week.

Dark brahmas get very impressive when they're fully mature, I've seen them but I don't have them, I have buff orps, Australorps and sussexes.
