I plan to 'rescue' some horse from my Grandpa. They live in muddy, cramped conditions. I am scared of what the feet will look like. They are at least fat. But maybe a little too fat. I mean, I guess horses could live there. They have for 20+ years. I just feel like I could give them a better life. They would be my first horses. One is 10 and the other is 20. He says they are broke to ride, but you never know. Definitely will have to research a ton. Any advice?

I was kind of referring to the mud covering their markings... haha?
With land and a set up like that I would be disappointed any other way lol. You could and should have a mini circus ♡

That Arab of mine - I bath her and she finds the blackest mid and rolls in it I give up trying to keep her clean...

Then what do I get??? 3 white Silkies , who also love getting filthy dirty!!

That's how it all starts! U get one maybe two, before you know it you have 14!!!!

Ok so maybe thats me and chickens....

Yep make sure feet are ok, they will need feet trimmed about every 8 weeks, fat is never good with horses, and all they really need is good GRASS hay not alfalfa and good clean ice free water, and at their age a small bit of senior feed - I feed Purina Senior that gets soaked. I also have salt licks.

Shelter from rain and wind is important as horses and cattle do not do well with wet conditions. They are plains animals used to cold dry or hot dry conditions, oh they can and do live in wet conditions but they were not be happy and it's not good for their coats or feet.

Oh as for riding I would get someone young and experienced to do that first ride could be painful otherwise!!!

Alright. So I told y’all I’d been busy with my daughter and all of her school activities this week. She was nominated for Winter Royalty at her school and the coronation was last night at halftime of the basketball game. SHE WON! My beautiful, smart, talented, witty girl is the 2022 Winter Royalty Queen!
