There is getting to be some difference in their looks again. I think I have a slow and a very slow developer.
Good grief! I've seen 4 week old cockerels that are unmistakable. This is obsurd. Lol

Big and fluffy is right...and SO soft! I love BAs because of their temperament, so docile and loving. That's not to say they won't peck...mine do on occasion but it's never anything aggressive. I just think they're looking for treats in my hand. I'm just hoping that the one is a roo, as BAs are known broodies and I never......ever.......want to go through the brooder box thing again...aaack!! 

Do you have all Black Australorps or a mixed flock?
I'm trying out different breeds because we're new. Just seeing what we like my husband knows I go all in. I'll pick what I like and tinker with breeding later when we get our space set up.

Oh my...I thought I had a sweet little pullet but today he crowed. Only 6 weeks old - I have about one percent hope its a pullet that just likes to crow, lol. So here is my pic, standing then snoozing. Out of my little flock of 19 birds, all 6 weeks old that were sold as pullets by hatchery - 6 of them are ROOS. Sigh.
