She was up bright and early this morning looking for treats (mealworms and oats) left over from yesterday.

Aw! I love her dark-colored eyes! They are so beautiful!!! She is such a cutie! And also an adorable little character!

Lol, yep, I hatched her

. She is such cutie! So is Chess! Did you hatch her?

We didn't, we got her as an eight week old pullet. We also got her friend Mustang, who unfortunately died when our neighbors dog attacked her. But on a much happier note, we chose Chess because she looked like a chess board of black and white! And because of her eyes. They are actually pure black with hints of green! So beautiful!

I lost my paint Silkie I had posted pictures of because one of our neighbors let their dogs out without a leash and while I was at church they came and killed her! I miss her so much!
That is so cute, though! I love her name! How pretty! She is certainly a special little girl!

Please just excuse the part of my post where I said 'the paint Silkie I had been posting pictures of.' That was on another thread and I mixed up which one I had posted the pictures on. So sorry about that! I had posted pictures of her on the Silkie thread. I think Sweet Pea will grow up to be beautiful also. But no matter what she looks like I can guarantee she's gonna be beautiful in my eyes! Lol The last thing is that I hope 'she' is actually a girl! It would be so sad if she was a roo because then I couldn't keep her. =( I am so glad to see people like you and all the amazing people here on Backyard Chickens who you can tell really love and care about their chickens. It makes my heart happy.

Me too! And it is SO great to see all the chicken lovers! I begged my parents for my first flock when I was about nine... and I finally got them! At that time, I thought o was the only one!! I am so happy that I was wrong!

How are everyone's BAs today? My girls spent their first night in the coop on Thursday. They were a little scared, but now they are at home. They are getting along great with my silkies. King the campine, cookie the lakenvelder, and buttercup the buttercup still are unsure of if these creatures will cause any harm to them.
