Black Bantam Cochin...is this Frizzled?

If both parents were definitely smooth feathered birds then, he can't be a frizzle :( Maybe his baby feathers are just a little strange.
 
There is such a thing as a natural mutation, which is how it starts in the first place, if it isn't introduced to the breed by using a breed with the existing mutation.

Not common but not uncommon either. You can't bet on it, but it happens. Like my wonder of getting a demelanized black in a bunch of bbs birds. It's weird. It happens. I got blue, black, splash and one demelanized black. Nature loves a sport.
 
That is very true. I have also had babies start coming in like frizzles and ended up smooth...so, I guess it's a wait and see :)
 
the feathers just look ruffled not frizzled to me wait till its got at least all its wing feathers in then repost

Thats why I posted extra pics. The fethers are sticking out away from the body, the tips are curled but the main part of the feather is straiter. However, they wont lay against the body normally. We will have to see what he decides to be!

This is my little unexpected frizzle cochin....looked just like yours at first, now he/she is about 8 weeks. :) SO CUTE!!!!
