haha! Okay pictures below. I guess that's what I get for buying hatching eggs from an unproven source...off eBay! I just wanted something dark for my broody to hatch and wasn't carrying about lineage or breed SOP. That will teach me. Looks like they might be Copper Splashes and who knows what else. They were advertised as 3 Blue Splash Maran eggs for hatching from Silverfire08 on eBay.

Nice color on that 2nd egg. Pretty birds too.

Thanks. It's interesting the layers of color they put on the eggs. I always thought a brown egg was brown, never realized it was painted on over a white shell. Yes I was certainly glad her second egg had more uniformity in the dark coloration or pigmentation? I'll try to find the copper thread now

Does anyone else have any solid blue or black male photos to share? I still need to get some pics of my other black hens. One is broody and nasty so hard to get any of her off the nest.
I have all my blue and black hens in with my black rooster now. Time to get some serious hatching done!!! This is the first time in a long time that I will be hoping for lots of male chicks to be born LOL! Also hoping for some dark blue females and males.

Eggs that are going into the 'bator......... except the eggs on the left. They are only for comparison purposes, the 2 at the very top are what I got from Black Birchen pullet #2 who has just started laying, the others below that are from my BB pullet that started laying a couple weeks ago. Atleast pullet #2 is laying darker than her sister. :/

The eggs in the middle are from my Splash Copper and Blue Copper gal and the eggs on the right are the Splash eggs I just got from Raven.
21 days and counting! Come on Splash babies!

look forward to seeing what you get for chickers lady. I've decided definitely no cranking up the incubators yet, its way too cold, almost -20 windchill last night.
