BLACK buttons?!

Did you see the price now!

And there is a ad where the lady says she has black ones something about fancy colors they are like 9.99 I can't paste and copy sorry

I read that one as well, but I think she means black pearl or something, which I'm assuming is something else. God only knows with all of these colors/combinations and oddball names that people might be giving more common colors.

ETA: 21 very dollars?! For six eggs?! PLUS $12 shipping! I hope he sends extras... Lol.

Well, if that one is honestly black and not bluefaced, then I'd be up for it, but if they're blueface, I wouldn't want to pay that price for an unestablished pattern. I just honestly don't know enough about genetics in general, let alone button genetics to be able to stabilize a pattern. A color, on the other hand, would be easier.

holy doodie! however, if the pattern breeds true it might be worth it

Nah, if I'm reading BQH's post correctly, it's a bluefaced, and the pattern hasn't been breeding true here yet. This is more of a project for you and BQH.

You could probably spend less money by just getting bluefaced birds and breeding the splash gene into them. If I'm understanding correctly, as long as the blue parts of the bluefaces are blotched out by white (I guess the backs are black in the bluefaces), then you'll have what appears to be a black and white bird.

Now, if you're a genetics guru, and want to work to stabilize the pattern in question, then, by all means, the price is worth it. If you don't understand more than just your basic genetics, don't bother, let the "professionals" work with it and stabilize it for us.
