I would try to get two of each, and if that's not an option I would go for the BCM, the Black Australorp, and the Black Thuringian

I like the white-faced Black Spanish (I have never owned one, but I have seen them before). They come in bantam, though most hatcheries don't sell them.Thank you! I'm only going for bantams so that limits my options, but I'll look at what I can find online.
I've never heard of Swedish black, so will research those.
I have to buy 6 at a time as a minimum, and I don't think my hen can sit on more than 8 or 10. So I could go for 2 breeds, but 3....Hmmmm it's possible. Might waste some eggs though.I would try to get two of each, and if that's not an option I would go for the BCM, the Black Australorp, and the Black Thuringian
Thanks for the suggestion. I looked them up. Not for me I'm afraid. Too much of a scrotal face and they don't like the cold. I'm also not a fan of giant combs like leghorns etc have. Wow those sound amazing! Do post pics when you get them. I would love to see that cross. And English Orps are so pretty!
Oh I'm so sorry. I thought you meant a cross. I reread it and see what you meant now. Here we call them "silkied xxxx". I never knew Bantam cochins came in silkied. I bet they are extra floofball floofies! It's a common misunderstanding with them, but they're actually not a cross, just a variety of Cochin that has fuzzy feathers like a Silkie.I have pictures of most of my silkie-feathered Cochins on this thread, just so I'm not hijacking your thread any more than I already have

6 or 12 or 18 or we'll 24.. not much difference right.. chicken mathmaybe I should get 6 eggs each of two breeds...
I could get carried away too easily here
lol. I am at least limited to how many a broody hen (or two) can sit on!6 or 12 or 18 or we'll 24.. not much difference right.. chicken math
Sounds like you need to make an investment.... hehehe. Chicken math is great. I need to get my incubator out I haven't hatched any this year yet. And that unusual. Just been busylol. I am at least limited to how many a broody hen (or two) can sit on!
I don't have an incubator. Now that would be dangerous math wise.
