BLACK COCHIN x EASTER EGGER.. Will I get blue eggs?

WOW! What an amazing egg!!!!!!! now I just may have to try to hatch out a Cochin/EE cross! LOL

What color egg did mom lay? My EE lays extremely light eggs so just a tint of a blueish/greenish coloring to them.
There were 2 moms, one dad.
We collected 5 eggs from the 2 easter egger hens, and all the eggs were blue. The father was a black cochin.

I'm pretty shocked at how dark and vibrant the blue/green is!

You should try hatching them! Lol.

Statistically speaking your progeny of the Cochin/EE cross had 96% chance of laying green/blue eggs because they are clearly P/p+ at the pea comb locus. If you cross them together 3/4 of the progeny will have 96% of laying green/blue eggs and 1/4 will have 96% of laying brown eggs

Pea comb doesnt mean colored egg I had one from a ee/slw that had a pea comb and laid brown

Here’s one of the hens laying an egg. As soon as she was done laying, I saw one tan colored egg under her, so I know it is jets. I put a blue egg from one of the other hens next to the tan one, both from the Easter Egger X Cochins.

The hen pictured above layed the tan egg pictured above.
Seems like the hens that don’t lay blue eggs, lay a very light tan/cream colored egg.

She is the unlucky one that was part of the 4% chance of laying tan colored eggs while having a pea comb

I hatched a pullet from a Dominque rooster and an easter egger hen. Pullet lays a greenish-blue egg that is so light in color it could be mistaken for white in the right light. It was almost as if the brown and blue were diluted so much they almost don't show up. Cochins are a very light brown egg so I'd imagine yours would be very similar in color.

Also, if you get a cochin fluff-butt and feathered feet with cheek muffs, I'd love, love, love to see it!

I have a almost 5 week old Cochin/ Easter egger mix baby! Super feathered legs since hatch and cheeks starting 😍

I have 3 EE/Cochin mix pullets that I kept from last year. My hen that they came from lays beautiful teal eggs. All 3 of the pullets lay a tealish/olive color!!!! Only 1 got its mamas cheeks. I just love cheeks!!!
