Personally, I think Fred types faster than the speed of light. But, no matter he knows what he is talking about!

But my phone is a dumb phone, and I cannot thumb. I'm old.

I don't know what to do if there males we will process them, if there pullets they will stay. We also raise meat birds, so that's not a big deal. I guess time will tell, I'm hoping there pullets, that's what we intended on buying in the first place.

We currently have 3 red sex link, 3 amber sex links, and 1 bared rock.

Contact the store. Have them look up what they are, manager should know what he ordered. The order form they use will have some description so at the very least the manager can help or tell you which hatchery they get birds from so you can look up their website and see what they are.

If you want layers now is the time to grow them out so if these are indeed male sex links then get more pullets now. For my climate waiting to find sex by growing birds out then getting more chicks would result in having birds that didn't lay until next spring.

Yeah I'm up in Vermont, so my girls last year didn't start laying until august/September... So if these are males then waiting wouldn't be worth it, at that point mine as we'll wait until next year!!

They will give me the info if I call??

If you have the receipt they will make the sale right. If they don't call the customer service number on the receipt and complain to the corporation office.

TSC really needs to clean up their act. The feed store in town got their chicks this week. The owner (who is my neighbor) told me she is amazed at the number of people who are telling her that they got ripped off when they bought chicks from TSC last spring.

Honestly, they may not really know what kind of chicks they got in. I bought chicks at another store, and they didn't know what they were. They had an idea, but nothing on paper. When I asked why, they said that corporate sends in the order, and they get them in. They don't know what they have coming until it gets there.

At one of the local feed stores, they have a list of what they are getting every week until summer. I guess the big stores don't work that way.

An invoice comes in with the TSC chicks. It tells the employees exactly what type of chicks are in the order. If someone in the store is telling you they don't know what the breeds are, either they don't care or the store manager doesn't care that they don't know.

The home office cares. I have called them several times. My local TSC can and will answer questions now. wink wink
