Pullet & Cockerel
Well, guess what? I took the chicks out for a stroll alongside the big run, where the grown hens were taking turns in the dust bath. Cannonball (that's the one in the foreground) took one look at Meg, the Red Star, strutting around... and stretched out his neck and gave a little squeaky, creaky cockerel sound.Front cockerel, back pullet.

Thanks. I think this is decided, just shy of 6 weeks.![]()
Gorgeous! So sad when you lose a bird that way. I give thanks each day that my hens are safe. Wishing you and your flock a happy autumn.![]()
How old is your chick? Do you have any flock mate pics for comparison? I had a brother and sis, so it was really easy to see the differences.
I am sure everyone will say that is way too young to tell. Since this is the 'just for fun' thread, I'll just venture to say that your chick stands tall like my BCM cockerel did at 4 weeks. He stood over and kept a lookout while his sister had dust baths.I don't we had our broody hen hatche two chicks the other one is mixed color they are 4 weeks tomorrow
