Black copper Maran chicks- I have a question...

Most of the chicks I'm buying are $5 or $6. i think it is a fair prize because they had to hatch it and take care of it.
i don't want to buy 25 chicks from hatcherie. I like to buy 5 or just a couple of different breed.
Last time I payed 8 dollar for speckeld sussex because they were hard to find and the longest I drove to get chicks was less then 4 hours.
I picked up some giant cochin straight run and it was worth the drive because his chickens were giants., huge. Only my luck all six turn out to be boys but the experience of having them was great. Big handsome roosters.

Honestly I find $5 a chick to be very cheap and a good deal, especially if it were out here in the Pacific Northwest - Lately on Craigslist it has been $8-$12 a chick.

I am in Indiana. And I dont want to pay and arm and a leg to have eggs shipped to me, then take the chance of them not hatching so I figured why not start with chicks instead, and if u think about it, its a better deal than the eggs..
