I was just being curious.! Last year I bought a trio locally of what supost to be black copper maran one of the pullets had no feathers on legs and the other one to little, the male had more anyways, I gave the trio to my parents and the male got kill by their neighbors dog ( they gave dog away thank God) hens lay some nice dark large eggs those hens got popular between the family they wanted to reproduce them but they have only a barred rock and a Rhode Island red, but I told them that pullets from that cross will not lay that dark they're like

The barred rock cross will lay well, and probably RIR crosses also, but egg color will be a disappointment.

I live in Fort Worth A good breeder lives near me he sells local chicks or hatchings eggs he show eggs and as won. He has great birds and will show you all the photos you want. I bought some eggs from him and very happy with the birds. Very good leg feathers and hackle color.

Ok thank you just trying to make sure I don't waste money on them abd there bout the real deal

fYI there are some really bad deals out there, especially in more recent times on eBay for getting eggs from pretend breeders. on the Arizona thread there was several byc'ers that got burned bad. quite a few

@desertmarcyhere in Arizona had some info on that, and in my opinion she's a reputable breeder for getting straight run Black Copper Maran chicks from, as I believe she is won some prizes at the state fairs? I'll have her correct me where I'm wrong here as my memory is not always a hundred percent.
