I am sorry to hear your BCM rooster is terrorizing your hens. How many hens do you have? What did he do to them?Well we've got our BCM separated from the girls now. He just got to aggressive:/ He nearly killed 2 of the girls within past couple of days.
Wish us luck please.
thank you. Especially since he's been such a great roo. 15 pullets. Pecking eyes & combs till they bleed horribly. Hubby caught him holding down buff Orpington head till she couldn't move. He almost culled him yesterday. 21 wks old. We're giving him another chance.I am sorry to hear your BCM rooster is terrorizing your hens. How many hens do you have? What did he do to them?
thank you. They are all 21 weeks, youngest ones are 18wks & no one likes them so they r still separate:/ (3 of the 4 are good in the run with big ones, but not good in confined space together & the odd one hides in the coop while everyone else is out in the run)Sometimes they just don't like young birds they don't like this baby sound they make. Put him in with some old hens and they will put him in his place
Hi...I'm new here and think I posted a question on the wrong thread as noone has responded to it...
Question:
I just bought a pair of Blue Copper Marans and was going to use them for breeding, raising and selling...From what I understand, if this pair gives me any wheaton marans, I need to find a new pair as they have a bad gene pool?

Thx Don...do I want to cull the parents if I get wheaton babies tho?
