Black Copper Marans discussion thread

Well it turns out they didn't get them from the breeder I thought they did so don't know where they got them from or what other breeds they breed. I contacted the breeder in my state and she said she didn't have a BCM Roo anymore so doesn't have chicks available but the farm I got mine from seems to have them just about every week. At first he thought she was an olive egger because he thought she had a pea comb but I sent them a closer pic proving it wasn't a pea comb. The egg waiting continues.

Not all olive egger crosses will have a pea comb. My money is on an Olive Egger cross. I have had several pullets that looked like that from that cross.

Hello, in search from 1-6 Black and Copper Marans pullets. Anyone selling any near South West Virginia? I am willing to drive to Roanoke. To Bristol. To Mt Airy. To Lynchburg. Please PM me if you are with in a couple of hours drive from me.

was it a real egg, sometimes in the egg reproduction process something else happens and the result is an egg look alike.

I'm sure there's no yolk, but otherwise, it totally looks like a real egg! Shell looks and feels like a real egg.
I think they call them Fairy Eggs :)
