Not the greatest pictures but you can kinda see what I have to work with..... Although, I don't plan on breeding for more than myself, and I only have 2 BCM pullets, the rest will be EE's and G.Comets. I do want to keep the best looking one!

#1

^ This one was my pick because he has the slate colored legs, decent leg feathering and the least amount of red/gold leakage on his wings.

Lots of leakage on this boy I think? #2

#3

#'s 1 2 and 3

#4 with Yellow legs He is a few weeks younger than the others.

#4 in the back....
They still look pretty young and will probably get more color so I would give them a little longer but number 4 is definitly a no go.

Im not an expert but 2 and 3 look the best as far as coloring goes. Can't really judge on much else in the pics.

I thought they were NOT supposed to have any red/gold coloring on their wings?

They are 19 weeks old. I already have plans to process with a friend next Saturday, so I need to make my decision..... Does more color leakage relate to egg darkness?

I can't tell anything about these birds from these pics sorry. I can tell you the bottom pic with a bird looking at the camera has leakage on his breast. The guy will yellow legs EAT HIM for sure.... wow......

If you only want them for your backyard birds..... pick the bird you like the most. They all seem to have light legs too me so that would be a cull point. I would pick one with decent coloring but not worry about the standard too much.... they will produce chicks will yellow legs.

Sorry not much help.

No, I really appreciate everyone's opinions! I'm sorry the pictures aren't any better, I only have my cell phone and getting them standing still is nearly impossible! These are my firsts, and honestly I don't know what I am really looking for. I don't have the resources to breed for more than replenishing my own flock, but I really wanted some dark eggs in my basket! I just wanted to keep the "best" of what I have as far as the breed!

ETA: Also, I've heard that mossy pullets/hens generally lay a darker egg.... does this mean that the cockerels/roos with the most leakage would have darker egg genes?

I probably took 100 pictures and these were the only ones that were even half way decent! I've only had chickens since last June, so I am really new to everything..... it can be overwhelming!
