KSF59: I see yellow feel/legs...Not a marans trait.....

Nice blue rooster.... If the chickens with the yellow legs are supposed to be marans of some kind..They are in fact crosses...... One the bright side.. They will be tastey!!!

This hen would not be a good match for your BCM roo IF he does not get some additional color. She needs a roo with color to add color to her.

Also, notice her back side - - - it is narrow and the tail is pinched. A wider back side is not only prettier, but helps with the egg laying production. . . ( at least that is my understanding). Kinda like a woman with wider hips is likely to have better luck at child birth!

Lisa, just curious why you would even want to breed this female since she has a carnation comb ? Don

In fact, I'd love to hear some thoughts on him. I'm sure some better pics are in order to really give proper thoughts. Was planning on doing that today but some friends stopped by unexpectedly so I didn't get a chance. I'll try to bring the camera out tomorrow. Any specific shots, aside from a profile, that anyone wants to see?

More pics of him would be super! Full on front view, full side view, view of the back from looking down should do it. Thanks!
