The brown colored male is just something that happens with the Black Copper sometimes. They should be culled if you are planning on breeding to the SOP , if you are just breeding chickens it would not matter.Only 2 out of my flock are BC marans. 1 is a young hen & the other a young Roo. The roo was born brown & all the others out of the batch were black. Has anyone ever seen this before? These are the 1st Marans ive owned. The guy i got them from was just going to kill the brown 1 because it was different & none of his others have ever been brown when hatched. They were both supposed to be hens too lol.
