Black egg

I got an all black quail egg today. Can shimmer in green when I hold it to the light.

Does anyone know what the reason can be?

Wow! that's all I can say. Never seen anything like that from a quail.

Please please PLEASE try to hatch it. I'd be so curious about what comes out. Maybe a quail, maybe a cowbird, or maybe a dragon. If it's a dragon, I'll take it off your hands but keep it quiet or my significant other will raise a fuss about it. It'll be all "It'll eat the dog when it's big enough" and "The mailman deserved better than that" and "Where will we live when it burns the house down?" and he'll just generally be a real hassle about the whole thing. The man has NO vision.

It happens, but is rare! These are the eggs I have had in the fridge for over a year to show the variety in both size and color that my birds have laid. Tiny to huge, really dark to all white.
