Black hens - anyone know what breed they are????

Thank you for the info!! I had no idea and don't know much about chickens (obviously). I would say their feet are more pinkish then yellow.....so guess we own Australorps!

yay! Australorp hens are sweet birds, and fairly good egg layers.

Yep! I love my Aussie girls. I ordered one to get me to my minimum 7 from MPC... they sent two as one wasn't looking so good on arrival. Both were fine and are now happy and laying every day. They are gorgeous - if I didn't love my rocks so much I'd have a flock of just Australorps. Reliable, quiet and friendly. GREAT birds.

Look like Black Australorps to me. "Blackies" is just a breed nickname. Lovely birds!

They look like australorps and like they should start laying real soon, from those combs. Do they free range at all? Meaning, could they be laying and hiding the eggs somewhere?

these are exactly like our first hen who is now about 5 months old. What is breed? Ever find out?

Very Pretty girls!!! I think the other are right....but what ever they are I'd be happy to own them...really nice looking birds!!!
