Well...the little flock is 4 months old this week and I'm sitting here watching them free-range for the first time. They are growing so fast and looking good! The one I initially had questions about is definitely a rooster, and started crowing regularly at 6 am a couple of weeks ago, for about 10 minutes a day. He has been very gentle and mannerly so far, both toward me and his girls. He is definitely improving in looks and is now a pretty handsome too. So far so good. What's really cool is that we just got back from 10 days vacation and when he heard my voice-at 3 in the afternoon-he broke his "6 am only "rule and crowed at me! It made my day!

After knocking around outside the run for a while he came and settled down by my feet. Gotta love that!
