January 7, 2026:

The picture I drew (traditionally) last night. I'm really enjoying my new black pencils, though one of them got fairly short on this piece.

Waiting in line at the food bank... I haven't gotten a chance to get a picture of really anything (though I passed a few things on the road that I wish I had stopped for a quick picture of), so here's a picture of the church that the food bank is at.

A lily that came from the food bank yesterday. It opened today, along with a couple of others. Today was my youngest sibling's birthday, so it went perfect with her birthday decorations.

I was making my bed this morning and looked out the window, and saw this female Hairy woodpecker. I watched her for a little bit, wondering if she'd stay long enough to get a picture of her, and eventually I went out and got a few shots. She's on a poplar tree, which I am a little concerned about, because if it's dying, it's close enough to land on either my house or my shed should it fall. Thankfully, it isn't a huge tree, though still big enough to do damage.

Washed the mirrors today. I picked these up free a few months ago and they've been sitting in my spare room ever since. They're very heavy, especially the big one. They have a little wear on the the back, and a few scratches that shows through, but I'm thinking I can still use them for what I wanted them for.

Bonus picture for Sunday:

The big mirror... is no longer clean. Never under estimate how much a chicken will poop during one photoshoot, or how much dust they drop by simply standing in one place.

Also, my living room never felt so small until I took this picture just now. Typically I do these photoshoots on my counter, but with the mirror, it wasn't going to work. I kinda liked doing this in my living room too, as I did have more space to play with concerning my backdrop.

A picture of the moon I took a little after 5:30 am this morning:

I was trying to get something more like this:

(Taken with my phone, Samsung Galaxy A35 5G.)

I couldn't get my Canon to cooperate for a picture like that. I tried messing around with the settings, but either the moon was way too bright, or I only got the moon. I was also in a bit of a rush (my Mom was heading off to Virginia this morning, so I wanted to say bye before she left), so I couldn't play around too much, plus I didn't have my camera stand.
I have done several moon pictures in the past, typically with my telescoping lens, and it's usually the same issue. I think only once I was able to capture more than just the moon, but I was by a lake and had the moon's reflection on it. I was zoomed out more, and might have had some clouds working in my favor.
Then with my phone, obviously, it has no quality. I got a couple of shots where the moon wasn't as bright, but I didn't like where the tree was located.

Either way, I'm happy I at least got a picture. I've had the moon shine into my bedroom window like a flashlight plenty of times, waking me up, and I've been wanting to get an early morning picture of the moon for awhile now.
Then, when I rushed out this morning and had have the moon wake me up, I wanted to get a better view of it. So I went to the end of my driveway and saw the clouds under the moon and my trees to the right looking so beautiful, I just had to rush back in and grab my camera for a quick shot. :love

Here's a couple bonus pictures. I took these last night:

Oh wow! I’d love to have a good enough camera to photograph the moon. My phone obviously doesn’t suffice. 😅
