Black Mites Around Eyes

she has been drinking water, and was eating a very little food - not seen her eat last day or so

we have been giving her a syringe of anitone mixed with water and some yoghurt (try and boost her vitamins) morning and night. its like she is dizzy and cant hold her head up right - but she is rolled right over

im starting to get worried as she has been getting worse and this weekend is 3 weeks, at what point is she not going to make a recovery

i will get some video, we isolated the sick one last weekend, i have just noticed now one of the other 2 has a really droopy wing and she cant flap it (like its paralysed) is this now looking like they both have different stages of something like mareks

Does she ever stand or walk, or hold her neck normally? It does sound like something else is wrong with her, and may not be related to the sticktight fleas. Was she vaccinated for Mareks disease? Can you post a picture of her when awake and active? Wry neck or torticolis is where the neck is twisted or held abnormally down or upwards, and can be from inflammation of the brain, vitamin E or thiamine deficiency, head injury, and is seen in Mareks disease and a few others. If she is not standing or walking, I would wonder about Mareks. You can add some vitamin E 400 IU and a little scrambled egg for thiamine to see if it makes a difference. Human vitamin B complex is a good source of thiamine as well, and contains riboflavin to help with leg health. Here is some information about Mareks disease:

unfortunately she hasnt hardly moved since wednesday and just drags herself round the box. it does look more and more like mareks - and it appears the breeder hadnt vaccinated them, the the 2nd of the 3 is no showing early signs of where the really sick one is now - her wing is dropped and she cant move it

thanks for everyones help with this thread, the second one took a turn for the worst - so i took them to the vets and they have confirmed it was mareks - i have had them both put to sleep - leaving us one of the girls left . feeling very very sad

:( so sorry to hear that. Mareks can be absolutely devastating to a flock.
