I have a 3-1/2 week old black chick from the hatchery who is fully feathered. Supposedly female. There are a couple mystery chicks, but I just cannot figure out what this gal is. She is beautiful and quite sweet.
Her legs are SO heavily feathered, she walks like she is wearing snow-shoes or her thighs are chafing. Much more than the brahmas of the same age.
She has really thick feathering on all sides of her "thighs", it actually tufts out in all directions; and she has feathering down onto her feet, where the feathers form large "snow-shoes". She walks slowly (personality? featheriness?), or flies/flutters about.
I hope someone can help me ID her breed! Thanks to anyone with any idea. . .
