Black poop help!!!!!!!

I found a very black poop in the coop I put ashes in the spot they dust bathe in but could it make the poop that black?

Looks normal to me, I wouldn't be too concerned.

How recent was the addition of ashes in the dust bath area? It definitely could be because of the ashes. If your birds are acting completely fine, I wouldn't worry about it too much

I have little ash piles in the back and see these often. Also, the longer in the air/sun, the darker they get.

Yes, ashes will turn poop black. My chickens like to dig around in horse compost and I see black poop afterward. Black poop occasionally is nothing to worry about.

But if it coincides with lethargic behavior, then you could have a problem.
